MARK BEAUMONT is the young cyclist who broke the record for cycling round the world: 18,296 miles in 194 days and 17 hours. He has now embarked on his next journey - Cycling The Americas - recording every push of his pedal for the BBC as he cycles through Alaska and down along the western side of North and South America to reach the southern tip of the Andes in Argentina in February 2010.

 

Only 26, Mark has produced his first book - telling it how it was as he circumpedalled(?) the world in a compelling narrative which has its readers sympathising with everybump on that saddle.
